After two decades of growing agencies and brands, Hanne Rognstad Østenfor destilled all her experience and knowledge into founding Swoon— a brand consultancy where creative craftsmanship and strategic thinking unite to shape brands and create meaningful impact.

A brand is much more than a logo or a clever tagline; it’s the sum of experiences that influence behavior and drive decisions. Sounds simple, but it’s easy to fall into one of two traps: a flawless strategy that never gets executed, or a stunning design that lacks connection to the business goals. In fact, more than 67% of strategies fail, and even the most beautiful designs or innovative campaigns can backfire if they aren’t anchored in a solid business strategy.

At Swoon, we don’t believe in choosing between creativity and strategy. The name "Swoon" reflects our commitment to creating work that stirs emotions, touches hearts, and make meaningful impact.

Our vision “SWOON for the moon” highlights the importance of creating work that captures hearts and speaks to people, guided by a big picture strategy. The moon is our symbol of ambition, always pushing us to reach higher. Plus, it rhymes, so it’s super easy to remember. In fact, this captures the essence of what a good vision should do: Inspire, give meaning and direction for the internal target audience and be easy to remember, so it’s used and followed.

For me, building a brand or a business starts with understanding people—what drives their behaviour, their likes, dislikes, fears, and aspirations. It’s about getting to the heart of what makes people tick, both individually and collectively.

Spotting patterns in behaviour, to understand your target audience. Knowing what motivates your colleagues or delights your clients is key to building trust and collaboration. Progress is rarely about one persons effort —it’s about creating meaningful impact together. I focus on working closely with experts that are not only talentet, but also deeply passionate about what they do, bringing energy and fun to everyday life (Let’s face it—great results rarely come from a miserable time).
